Government Poultry Farm, Multan

Multan has 3 Tehsils. These tehsils are Multan,Jalalpur peer wala & Shujabad. The Geographical location of Multan is 3721 square kilometres. Elevation of Multan is 400 feet above sea level. Nearest major cities from Multan are Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and Muzaffargarh. Multan is the third largest city of Pakistan by area. Multan is the fifth largest city of Pakistan by population. Geographically it is located in the center of country. Multan features an arid climate with very hot summers and cold winters. Multan has four seasons: Winter, summer, Autumn and Spring. The monsoon season also occurs in summer. Government Poultry Farm, Multan was established in Qasim Pur Colony for poultry lovers, Rural Poultry development, providing training regarding poultry farming and main purpose of farm was to investigate the new techniques for the enhancement of Poultry production for betterment of farmers, treatment of newly emerging diseases of Poultry, distribute the better productive birds to domestic poultry keepers to enhance the nutrition of general public and to do Research on different aspects of poultry farming. The farms are also providing Poultry Units, Day old Chicks, Laying Birds, Hatching Eggs, Table Eggs, Poultry Training Courses.

  • Helping to alleviate poverty, malnutrition & unemployment in rural masses being a small scale economic activity and sub optimal inputs

  • Demonstration of rearing / breeding practices for rural poultry promotion
  • To conduct research trials on different aspects of poultry management in different climatic zones of Punjab
  • To impart training on rural poultry production
